Azur Lane’s ship girls meet the ladies of the Dead or Alive series in the Venus Xtreme Vacation special crossover event aptly known as Vacation Lane.

Now, there’s fan service. And then there’s Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. Let the nosebleeds begin. Anyway, I’ve managed to acquire all the new ships from the event so it’s time to do a rundown of the crossover. There’s a lot to unpack here so hold on to your seahorses as we blaze through all of them.

New collection rewards

Now before you all get excited and run to the beach to play with watermelons, let’s start with a friendly reminder that this update also came with new Collection Rewards in the game’s Memento section.

These include some game-changing auxiliary gear like Nelson’s Pennant of Victory, which you can unlock by fully limit-breaking Nelson and Rodney. This aux can be equipped by Battleships, Battle Cruisers and Aviation Battleships and allows the ship that equips it to absorb 24% of the damage that the ship in the frontmost position of your Vanguard receives during the first six seconds of battle.

HMS Perseus review: Azur Lane’s muttering, pouty healer

Now what kind of serious damage can your Vanguard receive in the opening of a battle that could possibly require this kind of mitigation? Oh, that’s right, torpedo fleets and that deadly Richelieu and Jean Bart combo from PVP. It’s also still useful for PVE use thanks to its stat boosts of Firepower +50 and Hit +20 at Level 10. That compares quite nicely to the gold Type 1 white Piercing Shell’s Firepower +55 and Hit +15. Granted, it doesn’t have the white shell’s 25% boost to critical damage but the stat boost is still quite good for battleships.

Up next is another great PVP equip, the Eagle Union Elite Damage Control auxiliary unit. To get this, you will need to fully limit-break your Yorktown-class carriers, so Enterprise, Hornet and, of course, Yorktown. If you still don’t have Yorktown, by the way, she is one of the possible ship drops from the SP4 and VSP event maps for Vacation Lane.

Anyway, this aux can be equipped by all Eagle Union ships and comes with a special skill that allows its user to survive an attack that would otherwise kill it. The equipping ship will then turn invincible for eight seconds and sink after that. It’s almost like a mini-version of Hiryuu’s Final Counter skill and we all know how annoying that is to deal with in PVP. By the way, if you equip this on Juneau, her Martyr skill will trigger at the same time as the Elite Damage Control aux skill and not eight seconds later when she sinks. And

Azur Lane Launches Collaboration Event with Dead Or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation

Azur Lane is a naval shoot-em-up game developed for mobile platforms. But it doesn’t mean there’s no time to relax at the beach. Everyone may have the chance with the Azur Lane x Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation Collaboration event. The girls from DOA are heading over to Azur Lane beginning November 26 until December 9.

This crossover event Vacation Lane follows the story of Javelin, Ayanami, Z23, and Laffey. They’ve been ordered to check a newfound island called Vacation Island. On the island, they’ll meet the girls of DOA like Kasumi, Honoka, and Marie Rose. The girls, meanwhile, are trying to return home. The crossover event offers four new SP stages. There are also more difficult SP and ESX stages for players looking for a challenge. Players can complete missions and collect rewards by clearing and farming different event stages.

What else? Event Commissions now available daily for the duration of the event. Players who complete these dailies will get special event rewards, including event PT and Gear Skin Box (Venus Vacation).

Being a crossover, some volleyball is expected. Players can take part in a Venus Volleyball mini-game where one match is available each day. Limited event rewards are given to players who can play a total of seven matches.

The Vacation Lane event is bringing seven new ships – four Super Rare ships and three Elite ships. Super Rare ships include Marie Rose, Honoka, Kasumi, and Misaki. While Elite ships include Nagisa and Monica. They’re available through constructions. Players can also exchange for the Super Rare ship, Misaki, and Elite ship Nyotengu freely.

Additionally, each new character gets to have a new outfit. This should give them a different look.

Finally, players have a chance to obtain the limited furniture set Venus Vacation. This furniture set is actually an artificial setup where everyone can enjoy the sun and have some fun with beach volleyball.

What do you think? Excited about this one?

Lane Eight Wants to Offer You a ‘Vacation for Your Feet’ With Its New ‘Sand & Sea’ Pack

Lane Eight is continuing its sustainability mission with its upcoming “Sand & Sea” pack.

The stylish athletic footwear company is set to deliver two colorways of its Trainer AD 1 that are “inspired by the sunny beach holidays that we’re left to daydream about through 2020” and likens the experience wearing them to a “vacation for your feet.”

The shoes feature monochromatic uppers — one in “Pink Sand” and the other in “Deep Blue” — that sit atop white sole units. The hues, according to Lane Eight, are meant to resemble the soft pink sand and clear blue water of a “dream vacation in the sun.”

From a technology and material standpoint, these shoes are made with the same components as other Trainer AD 1 iterations, which includes several sustainable elements.

For instance, the looks come equipped with algae-based plush Bloom midsoles, which Lane Eight said returns 31.5 liters of fresh water back to the environment and removes 64 cubic meters of carbon from the atmosphere. Also, the shoes feature abrasion-resistant uppers with vegan microfiber overlays and recycled knit and polyester yarn made with 11 plastic bottles.

The Lane Eight Trainer AD 1 “Sand & Sea” pack is available now via Laneeight.com. It is available in both men’s and women’s sizing and retails for $95.

Protogroup seeking new permit for valet parking lane for $192 Daytona hotel project

DAYTONA BEACH — A new permit application has been filed for construction of a controversial valet parking lane at the $192 million Protogroup hotel-condominium project, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The new application was filed by the developer after Protogroup started work on that portion of the project in October in violation of an expired permit. The new permit request is under review, said Allison Colburn, FDOT spokeswoman.

“After Protogroup was notified of the permitting issue, all construction work within the right-of-way was halted,” Colburn said by email. “Discussions with the contractor are ongoing.”

The issue with the construction of the valet lane — a 50-foot-long westbound lane on the north side of eastbound Oakridge Boulevard at North Atlantic Avenue — is the latest in nearly a decade’s worth of controversies and delays tied to the twin-tower hotel-condominium project, the biggest, most expensive development project in Daytona Beach history.

Hotel Magdalena’s restaurant, Summer House on Music Lane, now open near South Congress – Entertainment – Austin American-Statesman

Bunkhouse Group has helped define the look and feel of Austin as much as any hospitality company in the city over the last decade-plus with properties like the Hotel San Jose and Hotel Saint Cecilia.

But the local hotel properties from the Austin-based company have historically offered limited food and beverage offerings. That all changes this week, as Bunkhouse opens its first full-service hotel restaurant, Summer House on Music Lane, at the new Hotel Magdalena, located at 1101 Music Lane, just steps away from bustling South Congress Avenue.

The hotel was developed on part of the site of that was home to the historic old Terrace Motel Hotel, which was purchased by Willie Nelson in the 1970s and at that time partially converted into the Austin Opry House, and is intended to pay homage to 1970s lakeside culture, with ample outdoor areas, courtyards and design elements reflecting the wood and rocks of Central Texas.

The restaurant is meant to echo that same casual vibe, with a kitchen featuring a live-fire grill and rotisserie. Summer House on Music Lane is led by executive chef Jeffrey Hundelt, who previously served as culinary director at Fresa’s and Launderette, and the restaurant’s menu reflects the latter, with dinner dishes like whipped feta with tomato jam, tuna crudo, striped bass, pappardelle Bolognese, and grilled steak with chimichurri.

The restaurant at the 89-room hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with brunch served on weekends.

The Hotlel Magdalena, the largest to date from Bunkhouse, which is majority-owned by Standard Hotels, was designed in collaboration with Austin architecture firm Lake | Flato.

Owners say the Magdalena is the first mass timber hotel constructed in North America, with pieces of that wood visible in the hotel’s ceiling design and exterior walkways.

Texas Hospitals Strain to Cope in Newest Hotspots (7:27 a.m. HK)

Almost one-fourth of all hospital beds in the El Paso, Texas, area are occupied by virus patients and the region with almost 1 million residents has just 16 intensive-care beds available, state health department data showed.

In the state’s newest hotspots of El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo and Laredo, hospitals’ virus loads are approaching or already above the 15% threshhold set forth by Governor Greg Abbott for emergency status.

Meanwhile, data lags continue to dog efforts to track the trajectory of the outbreak in the second-largest US state. On Monday, the state disclosed 2,440 previously uncounted cases, a tally which outnumbered the actual figure for new daily detections by more than 7%.

CDC Urges Masks While on Transit (6:41 a.m. HK)

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a “strong recommendation” for mask-wearing by both passengers and operators on planes, trains, buses and taxis to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Masks should cover a person’s nose and mouth and be worn while traveling in and out of the U.S. as well as within the country, the agency said. Operators should require them for the entire time of travel and deny entry to anyone not wearing one.

The change was reported earlier by the Washington Post, which said it followed airline industry
