27 Great Holiday Gift Ideas From Truly Chic Hotel Boutiques

NO LONGER cramped kiosks selling postcards and prophylactics, many hotel gift shops have become expertly curated boutiques. And now some of the world’s great purveyors of hospitality have emerged as a solution for online shoppers who need a holiday gift for the curtailed travelers in their lives. Think fancy consumables specific to the hotel’s region, an unusual toy, local things unavailable anywhere else.

If your loved ones have a favorite hotel, to which they return time and again, but can’t this year, a souvenir from its gift shop can be especially thoughtful. Ideal for Aunt Jane who’s been itching to get back to Claridge’s? The London landmark is now selling its tea service for the first time via its online store.

Aunt Jane will be thrilled and you can feel good about yourself: Online Christmas shopping via hotel boutique helps the hard-hit hospitality industry, too. Many top names offer gift cards for future travel. But in the meantime, here’s a wish list of things you can get online and have delivered directly, even if the hotel is closed:

Made in Italy

Emporio Sirenuse at Le Sirenuse, Positano

Opened in 1951 when the Sersale family (and current owners) converted their house into a hotel, this small resort that hugs the Amalfi Coast is an Italian dream come true, with a boutique so chic that the wares—from vibrant caftan to snappy swim trunks—are also sold on Net-a-Porter. Standout item: the Suzani-inspired pillow cases (from $316) that mimic textiles used throughout the 58-room property. emporiosirenuse.com

Southern Exposure

Keep Shop at Noelle, Nashville

On the ground floor of this reinvented 1930s downtown hotel, the Keep Shop boutique features a range of home goods and clothing, most made in the Southern U.S., including Stetson cowboy hats (from $125) and an indigo kimono jacket from Nashville designer Oil + Lumber ($175). noelle-nashville.com, keep.shop

The Marylebone Hotel London review: A chic five-star hotel with the city on your doorstep | Short & City breaks | Travel

The Marylebone Hotel is found just minutes from Bond Street station and is perfectly situated in the heart of Marylebone Village. Its central London location makes it the perfect spot for anyone looking for a city staycation. There’s plenty to explore nearby on foot, from cute clothes shops to buzzing cafes, as well as the perfect stepping stone to elsewhere in the capital if you hop on a bus or the tube.

The five-star establishment exudes chic from the moment you enter and boasts charming and stylish decor.

Its eclectically-coloured lounge practically invites you to nestle in and enjoy a drink as you arrive – and its smart staff are very welcoming indeed.

I spend the night in one of the corner suites which is decorated in rather more muted tones than the vibrant public areas.

There’s certainly nothing neutral about the vista, though – the room offers excellent views over the chimney tops of the capital.

One can see all the way down the streets to the pubs and shops below (as well as peer into other people’s windows if feeling nosy).

Meanwhile, the striking marble bathroom houses a separate bath and shower (and plenty of privacy).

I rather take a shine to the miniature toiletries which come in all sorts of exciting scents, from rum to cilantro.

One lovely touch in the bedroom is the ‘welcome’ bag from Daunt Books, holding two coffee-table worthy tomes.

The original and iconic Edwardian bookshop is just around the corner and well worth an explore.

Rooms in The Marylebone certainly don’t come equal though, so if you want to splurge even more you can.

DON’T MISS

The hotel is known for housing some of the most spectacular suites in London.

Some of which them come complete with expansive retracting roof terraces, offering incredible views over the rooftops of Marylebone and Mayfair all the way to The Shard and beyond.

Meanwhile the hotel’s brand-new ‘Loft Suite’ is a beautifully appointed one-bedroom apartment accessed by its own private staircase and complete with a kitchenette, marble bathroom and double incredible views.

What’s more, the living room can be separated from the bedroom and become a guest room with its own sofa bed and shower room.

The Marylebone Hotel’s restaurant 108 Brasserie & Bar is not to be missed.

It offers a chic European dining experience and has just launched a new dining menu.

I enjoy a juicy burrata with heirloom tomatoes followed by a perfectly-cooked ribeye steak.

The salted caramel brownie sundae made for an indulgent dessert.

A perk of the spot is that it allows guests to eat outside whatever the weather thanks to the heated alfresco terrace.

The restaurant is packed when we arrive and is clearly very popular as a stand-alone restaurant, by Londoners and visitors alike.

If you wish to work off the calories, you can head to the in-house Third Space Gym.

The premium gym offers a lovely pool where I
