River Road Park District Closure Update

Hello Everyone,

We thank you again for your patience during this difficult time.  Although we do not know what the future holds, we are working hard to create a safe and clean environment for all of you to come back to.  The District utilizes information provided by Governor Brown to educate ourselves, and are using projected models to estimate a timeframe to reopen.  Current information can be found at the following links:

Our staff, just like all of you, are anxious to reopen our facilities, but we have to wait for authorization from the Governor to do so.  We will continue to post videos on our YouTube channel and on Facebook, and encourage all of you to participate in our classes from home. Until we are able to reopen our doors, we hope that all of you continue to stay healthy and safe.

May you, and those around you, continue to stay healthy. We hope to see you very soon!

First and foremost, we would like to say how much we miss seeing each and every one of you. Children attending our early childhood programs. Gymnasts at Prairie Hall. Adults in our water exercise, yoga, and tai chi classes. Attendees on our 55+ day trips. This is an extraordinarily challenging time, and we would like to thank all of you for your continued support.

Both physical and mental exercise are important in our everyday lives. Our job is to help provide you with opportunities to stay healthy and fit. In these trying times, please remember that you can still come and use our open spaces at Emerald Park. The playground and skate park are closed, but all open spaces can continue to be used with proper social distancing.

In addition, we will continue to provide programming to our Youtube page. Programs may include children’s art activities, children’s story time, adult fitness routines and more. To access these programs, please use the link below.

Following guidelines set by Governor Brown and Executive Order Number 20-12, we have extended all facility closures and programming cancellations beyond our original date of April 1st. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will notify all patrons as soon as we are able to reopen.

The District’s Business office will remain open Monday – Friday from 8am – 4pm. To contact us with questions, please call 541-688-4052, or email us: [email protected]

Thank you again to everyone who participates in our programming. We look forward to welcoming you back to our facilities as soon as possible, and wish you all health and happiness until then.

Fly high, Tannah Grace, we will miss you…

With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague, Tannah Graham.  Tannah had been fighting a brave battle to overcome a respiratory illness that took her young life.  Our immediate thoughts and prayers go out to Tannah’s family, and to all the lives she endeared and touched.

Tannah was a doting mother, rock and matriarch to her family.  She had an exuberant, warm and giving nature.  One of her most admirable qualities was her kind heart.  She often was guilty of bestowing tiny acts of kindness and compassion without hesitation, always humble and unassuming.

As her co-workers, we all feel a deep personal loss.  Tannah roamed the halls and classrooms of the District from a young age through adulthood.  Many of us watched her grow up within these walls. This was her home. The District and the North Eugene community has lost a remarkable human being.
