Man Stabbed Multiple Times At Arlington Heights Hotel

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 54-year-old man remains in critical, but stable condition, at an area hospital after being stabbed multiple times by another male late Saturday night in Arlington Heights. Police were called to a hotel in the 2100 block of South Arlington Heights Road at around 11:15 p.m., where they found the man in the hotel lobby.

Police performed life-saving aid on the man, who was then treated by the Arlington Heights Fire Department upon their arrival, according to a press release. After he was stabilized, the man was transported to an area hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for life-threatening injuries. He remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.

The male accused of aggravated battery in the stabbing remains at large, but there is no indication he poses any threat to the public as the investigation suggests this is an isolated incident between two acquaintances. According to police, the male accused in the stabbing knows the victim and although their interaction precipitating the stabbing is not yet clear, this does not appear to be a random act of violence. Due to the victim’s injuries, he has been unable to shed any light on this aspect of the investigation to date.

The Arlington Heights Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively pursuing all investigative leads, according to the release.
