Forget trying to decide if it’s too early to put up Christmas decorations; one hotel has abandoned all the rules and doesn’t even stick to December for festivities.
Instead, The Inn at Christmas Place celebrates Christmas all year long!
Yep, that includes keeping the hotel decked out in tinsel and twinkling lights, heaps of Christmas trees throughout the hotel that are adorned with hundreds of baubles and decorations, and plenty more festive offerings.
The cosy inn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, really goes all out. Think heaps of twinkling LED lights both inside and outside the hotel, large fireplaces with festive mantelpieces, and rooms in festive green and red hues.
But it’s not just the decorations where they up the ante.
Throughout the year there are plenty of fun festive activities on offer, including a ‘Christmas in July’ programme which offers activities from gingerbread house decorating to storytelling sessions with Santa.
Speaking of Santa, guests can catch plenty of glimpses of Father Christmas whether he’s wandering through the restaurant at breakfast time to meet families or handing out cookies at the check-in desk.
Oh, and if you’re visiting in summer and relaxing by the outdoor pool, there’s a Singing Santa who often heads out to serenade guests. So guess that answers the question, “What does Santa do when he’s not in the North Pole?”.
Meanwhile, the lobby boasts an impressive Glockenspiel clock which plays Christmas carols and strikes the time every hour between 9am and 9pm.
Unsurprisingly, every room at the hotel is also decorated, with everything from mini Christmas trees to pretty wreaths and garlands, while bedding is often in either red or green colours.
However, one highlight is the aptly-named Santa’s Suite which has everything from a huge gas fireplace and decorated mantel to cosy armchairs right by an in-room Christmas tree decked out in colourful lights.
There are plenty of nods to Santa in the room from sculptures to a red and white throw that looks like his hat.
The suite itself is pretty luxurious offering up a huge bed, a living area, an in-room whirlpool and a balcony.
Oh and yes – there’s a gift from Santa himself for guests who book in for a stay.
So how does a hotel which celebrates Christmas all year long, actually celebrate the traditional festive season?
Usually, the inn kicks off weeks of festive events with an outdoor concert (led by Singing Santa of course) complete with cookies and hot chocolate, and a lighting of the 30ft-high Christmas tree.
Heaps of fun events follow including visits from Santa, gingerbread house decorating, Christmas bingo and more.
