CCTV images from the lobby of Shengzhou Imperial Grand Hotel in Zhejiang Province in East China captured the moment the two women narrowly escaped the potentially fatal incident on Tuesday.

The friends can be seen walking in front of the hotel’s east entrance when the vehicle, which was driven by a man identified only by his last name Yu, swerves toward them at 8:15 p.m. local time.

One friend spots the black SUV and pulls her friend to safety. The pair then fall backwards as Yu’s car is driven up the steps and slams into a parked sedan as well as the hotel’s glass doors, the video shows.

The surveillance camera video revealed three other hotel guests who also avoided the crash by seconds. They stepped into an elevator just as Yu’s car shattered the hotel’s glass doors and came to a stop against a concrete wall.

An on-duty staff member seated in the lobby managed to avoid debris and was also unharmed, the clip shows.

Videos circulated on Chinese social media platforms Weibo and WeChat show Yu apparently unconscious in the driver’s seat of his car in the aftermath of the accident.

The front of his SUV appeared to have sustained heavy damage during the high-speed crash and was filmed as it was being towed away from the scene.

Shengzhou traffic police said they arrived to find Yu unconscious in the driver’s seat, but it was not immediately clear whether his condition was a result of the crash.

No others were injured apart from the driver himself, local authorities said in an online statement.

The police said Yu did not possess a driver’s license and was cleared of drunk-driving suspicion.

He was taken to local hospital for treatment but will be detained later on charges of driving without a license, among other offenses, the statement read.

It was unclear at the time of writing what might have caused Yu to lose control of his car.

Liability determined by the resultant investigation will decide how much Yu will have to pay in damages to the establishment.

The Latest: Rural hospitals in Midwest face viral surge | National News

The measures were taken after Lombardy, Italy’s most populous region, has once again become the most affected in the COVID-19 resurgence, adding more than 2,000 infections a day. Hospitals are coming under strain and intensive care units are filling up.

The new measures allow only table service for bars from 6 p.m., ban takeout alcohol sales from that time and prohibit all consumption of booze in public spaces, an effort to eliminate crowds from forming in piazzas with takeout drinks.

Italy’s other hardest-hit region, southern Campania, has taken similarly strict measures, including a shutdown of schools for two weeks. After parents protested, the regional governor backed off Friday and allowed day-care centers to remain open.

PRAGUE — Coronavirus infections in the Czech Republic have surpassed 10,000 in one day for the first time, setting a new record high for the third straight day.

The Health Ministry says the day-to-day-increase of the new confirmed cases surged to 11,105 on Friday. It is almost 1,400 more than the previous record set a day earlier.

The country has registered a total of 160,112 cases, including 1,283 deaths.

After a series of new restrictive measures adopted by the government to slow down the surge, Health Minister Roman Prymula said he still expected a rise of those tested positive for about two weeks.

Stevie Nicks joins TikTok, posts her own recreation of viral skateboarder

Stevie Nicks joined TikTok on Tuesday and did her own special recreation of a viral skateboarder.

Skateboarder Nathan Apodaca gained fame after he posted a video of himself listening to the 1977 Fleetwood Mac hit “Dreams” while he skateboards and drinks cranberry juice at the same time.

Nicks, 72, put a unique twist on the viral moment when she made her TikTok debut.

The Fleetwood Mac singer was seen lacing up a pair of roller skates while “Dreams” played in the background and a bottle of Ocean Spray cranberry juice was on the floor.

A camera then panned up to show Nicks’ face and she began to sing along to her hit.

“Afternoon vibe. Lace ’em up!” the singer captioned the video along with the hashtags “Dreams,” “FleetwoodMac” and “CranberryDreams.”

Nicks also tagged the viral skateboarder.

The “Landslide” singer isn’t the only Fleetwood Mac star to recreate Nathan’s video.

Mick Fleetwood posted his own video last Sunday.

“Dreams and Cranberry just hits different,” Fleetwood, 73, captioned the post. He also tagged the viral skateboarder.

The band’s official Twitter account reposted the viral video last month and wrote, “We love this!”
