Police: Bloody footprints lead to injured hotel guest in Norwalk

NORWALK — Bloody footprints leading to a room at the Norwalk Inn led to the discovery of an injured person there and launched a police search that continued into South Norwalk on Saturday night, police said.

Norwalk Police said they received a call around 10:15 p.m. from staff at the Nowalk Inn, 99 East Ave., reporting the bloody footprints.

Officers spoke to the injured guest, who police said was uncooperative. The guest, who was not identified by police, was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of a leg wound, which police said was non-life-threatening.

Other officers and a tracking dog from another department followed a bloody trail from the Norwalk Inn to the area of South Main Street, which is more than 2 miles from the hotel, according to Google Maps.

The cause of the leg wound was not known, and Norwalk Police said Sunday that the investigation remained open.
