New Arboretum Gardens Planned

05/18/2011

The Arboretum plans to start a new series titled " Follow my Garden" which will show case one of the  Arboretum gardens from start to finish. Plans also include adding two new large gardens and several pocket gardens this year, as well as revamping a few existing garden areas. Work is now in progress on a new "Garden in the Forest,"  which will honor James Cain.  This project and support from Keep Athens Beautiful will create a beautiful new highway frontage sign and a handicap accessible trail. This will enhance the Arboretum's highway visiblity and enable many visitors to easily find us.

The Arboretum's Board and corp of volunteers are focused on making the Arboretum a showcase for East Texas and a place we will be even more proud of.  If you haven't visited the Arboretum lately, come see the gardens. We are confindent you will be pleased with your visit to the Arboretum!

Happy Gardening and thank you to everyone who supports the Arboretum and allows us to stay in bloom!  Happy Spring!-- Teresa Glasgow, Executive Director, ETABS
